Steel brands, grades and what to specify
On some steel the brand on the bundle is the deciding factor. On most of it, the grade and the section matter more. Here is how that plays out product by product — so you know what to pin down before you ask anyone for a price.
How we source against your specification
Three steps, and the third is the one most suppliers skip.
01 — We start from your drawing
The product, size, grade and standard you name are the brief. Nothing is substituted without telling you first.
02 — We source against it
We identify what can be arranged to that specification and from where, based on what is actually moving in the market this week.
03 — We tell you plainly
If the exact brand or grade cannot be arranged in your timeframe, you hear it before you order — not after.
When the brand matters — and when the spec matters more
Brand availability moves with the market, so we confirm it against each enquiry rather than publishing a list that goes stale. What does not move is the specification — and on four of these five product groups, that is what actually determines what you receive.
What to send us. The product and size, the grade or standard your drawing names, the quantity — and any brand your approval requires. We come back on what can be arranged against that specification, and say plainly where it cannot.
Need a specific brand?
Tell us the product, grade, size and quantity, plus the brand your approval names. We will confirm what can be sourced against it.
